The Talyllyn Railway is a historic narrow-gauge steam railway, set in the beautiful Mid-Wales countryside. Running from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn and Nant Gwernol, the line passes the delightful Dolgoch Falls and there are excellent forest walks at Nant Gwernol.

A trip to the west somerset on the 29 july 2009,when most peaple stayed at home due to the downpour!-still the rain did not spoil the day,just made things a bit wet!
a few shots of what was the line from burnham on sea-highbridge of the old somerset central railway -which became the somerset and dorest joint as it is today
more shots of the line that should never have shut in 1966.
some bridges and locations were impossible to get , due to being on privite land, or as was the case with masbury summit - unable to stop on the main road due to busy traffic ,and unable to find anywhere to park due to white lines.
i may have another crack next year and fill in the gaps.!

a collection of shots of the old s&djr as it is today(30may 2007) -from highbridge-evercreech jct with a nice surprise (althought not on the s&djr) it was very near the site of highbridge works.
